This morning I felt inspired to do some sketches of Azawakh. I started with standing poses and then did this running version. I think the least satisfactory parts are the shape of the scapula and the head.

While not really the same as chasing live critters, some Azawakh enjoy the lure coursing game.

Cool Video of Hunting Saluki

This video is from the PBS series, Nature. The clip is from part II of the two-part episode, “Dogs that Changed the World”. It shows desert bred saluki being coursed by Bedou in Jordan. There’s also a cool computer-generated sequence of the dog running with it’s skin off so it is a running skeleton.
